We are delighted to confirm that Padiham on Parade has successfully secured £5,500 in funding from the Police and Crime Commissioner's Member of Parliament Fund.
MPs can apply for the money on behalf of residents for projects that enhance community protection, reduce crime, and strengthen public confidence in policing.
The Parade Chair, Ida Carmichael, applied to this new fund with the Burnley MP Oliver Ryan, which was launched last year by the Police and Crime Commissioner to support Community Safety Partnerships in bringing communities together and helping to deliver safer streets.
We are absolutely over the moon that the application was successful and that this Member of Parliament funding will be a fantastic addition to the event budget for this year's 10th Anniversary.
The substantial award recognises the important role Padiham on Parade plays in bringing people of all ages together from across the local community for a fabulous weekend of enjoyment and nostalgia.
The grant, alongside substantial monies raised through our valued sponsors and fundraising events, will enable us to deliver a bigger and even more varied event this year — giving our community another opportunity to come together and enjoy everything Padiham on Parade has to offer.
